Before the wedding ceremony begins, many details need to fall into place. Flowers are seen for the first time, family and friends gather in an emotional anticipation, the bride's veil is placed on her head, along with countless other details of this very important day. Ericson Photography's photojournalist, Candi Wolley, is silently part of this preparation, and is creating gorgeous photographs of the details in your wedding day. These images include the details in the back of the gown, the jewelery, the expressions of the family looking on. When the bride is fully ready, Ericson Photography's traditional photography begins. Photojournalistic photographs are still being taken during the formals to capture all the details of the day that might otherwise have gone unnoticed to our couple.
Photojournalistic photography before the ceremony also includes the groom and his best man, groomsmen, and ring bearer. Photographs of the ceremony decorations, the wedding programs, or perhaps greeting of the guests will take place while awaiting the arrival of the bride.
Once the ceremony begins, our couples may not even notice that they are being photographed. Never interrupting or posing, Candi subtly and intuitively photographs the bride as she walks down the aisle, the groom's expression when he first sees her, and the emotional reactions of your special guests. Candi also photographs different angles during the key ceremony moments, such as the vows and first kiss. Quietly working, Candi will constantly capture these important moments and details, from beginning to end, that make your wedding day so unique.
With the ceremony complete, photographs of the group formals begin. As Steve Ericson gently guides the group portrait time in an organized and time efficient way, Candi is observing and creating that which makes your wedding day so unique. These images may include details in the flowers, interactions of the guests, or perhaps the flower girl giggling with the ring bearer. These moments would normally occur without anyone seeing, but Ericson Photography will be there to notice and to photograph them from afar and without interruption.
When the group portraits are completed, the family and friends are free to go on to the reception site while the bride and groom spend a few moments for their formal photographs. With the audience gone and with Steve Ericson's gentle guidance and calming personality, our couples can be at ease. As the classic traditional photographytraditional photographs are being created, Candi will be photographing from a different angle. An example of this may be a full-length formal image of our couple holding hands, while a simultaneous photograph is taken by the photojournalist of a close up of the hands shown a a different angle. Many unplanned images become instant favorites of our couples. During a formal session, the traditional photography stops for a moment to let a slight breeze pass by. The breeze lifts the bride's veil and she laughs, as Candi's trained anticipation allows her to photograph this gorgeous moment. No extra time is needed for these timeless images, and no posing or interruption ever occurs. These are natural images that of our couples are not even aware of on their wedding day.
After the formals, Candi creates fun and memorable photographs of the wedding reception. Alternate angles of the key moments are created, such as the toasts, first dance, and cake cutting are taken. Without interfering, the table settings and reception decor are photographed, as well as the hugs, reactions, and interactions of all those who are part of your wedding day.
Photojournalism really adds an element of personalization and emotion to your photographs. These images blend beautifully with our traditional images, and you will be pleased to have both styles to choose from and to blend together for your wedding album.

"We were so touched that you noticed all the tiny details of our wedding day! The photojournalistic images were beautiful and really added so much to our wedding album. I love the photograph of the back of my gown and also of my family watching the ceremony in the church. I cried when I saw their reactions, and to combine that with the gorgeous images of the ceremony itself was perfect. I have such a unique wedding album now and I really feel like you saw all the parts of my wedding day that were so important to us." ~ Stacy & Mark |
